Due to continued international growth, we are seeking Applications Specialists to join our Applications & Training team. This is a highly varied and rewarding role that combines forensic science, advanced technology, and worldwide international travel.
You will play a key role in helping customers around the world successfully implement and use the company’s technology. This includes delivering technical demonstrations, installing equipment, training forensic professionals, and supporting customers with expert application knowledge. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a forensic science or scientific instrumentation background or a graduate with the aptitude who enjoys engaging with people, explaining complex technology, and travelling internationally.
Job Role
As an Applications Specialist, you will develop expert knowledge of the company’s product range and support both customers and internal teams across the full product lifecycle as part of a large team. This role requires extensive and frequent international travel and is open to both graduates and experienced forensic professionals with the industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing in-depth technical knowledge across the company’s forensic technology portfolio
- Delivering product demonstrations, installations, and training sessions for customers worldwide
- Providing pre-sales technical support to the sales team and global distributor network
- Supporting applications-based research projects and technical investigations
- Preparing technical reports and documentation for customers and internal stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate records within the company’s CRM and internal systems
- Providing feedback to engineering and product development teams to support product improvements
- Supporting marketing initiatives, including exhibitions and customer demonstrations
- Assisting with internal R&D activities such as product evaluation and software testing
- The role involves extensive international travel
Job Requirements
The preferred candidate will:
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a customer-facing environment and will have the following essential experience or skills:
- A degree in Forensic Science or a related scientific discipline, or experience working with technical/scientific instrumentation
- A genuine interest in forensic science and investigative technologies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Confidence presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A proactive and personable approach with strong team collaborative skills
- The flexibility and enthusiasm to travel internationally extensively and on a regular basis
- Excellent written and spoken English is essential
In addition:
- A full, clean UK driving licence is required
- Additional languages would be beneficial
- Experience within forensic laboratories or scientific instrumentation environments would be beneficial
- Experience delivering technical training, demonstrations, or providing customer support would be beneficial
