RNC Forensic Director Praises Latest Generation of CSI Tools, including Crime-lite AUTO.
In a recent interview with Canada’s CBC News, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Director of Forensics and Property Control, Kathryn Rodgers, praised the effectiveness of the Crime-lite AUTO for the identification of substances, including blood, saliva, and gunshot residues.
The RNC make use of a scenario room, where detailed scenes are staged to include typical elements found at real crime scenes, in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new equipment.
“Like many fields, the technology is constantly… advancing for forensic identification,” Rogers said, as she described how the RNC was using “game changing” new technology, including the Crime-lite AUTO, spectrometers, and a 3D scanner, purchased by the Department of Justice and Public Safety.
